From creating the perfect costume interpretation of your favorite pose to dressing up like a yogini famous for getting undressed, here are a few DIY yoga costume ideas destined to make you the star of your studios Halloween party.
Have a happy Halloween in these fun yoga costumes:
Strike a pose
Have a pose you absolutely love? Pay ode to your asanas by creating a clever costume interpretation of your favorite pose. Here are a few suggestions to inspire you:
Cat/Cow: Buy or make your own cat and cow costumes. Wear the top half of the cow costume and the lower half of the cat costume.
Tree Pose: Use the costume idea for Forrest yoga below (sans long ponytail) and stand around in tree all night. This is a great one for wallflowers.
Warrior II: Saved that bow and arrow from last year's Hunger Games costume? Good, because you'll need it to embody Warrior II. Use your imagination to create the perfect warrior-inspired outfit and perfect your proud warrior strut before you hit the party. Get two of your yoga-loving friends to go with you as Warrior I and Warrior III.
Forrest Yoga
We got a bit literal with this costume idea. Turn your body into a forest by gluing leaves, twigs and sticks to a brown tank top and leggings (bonus points if you can find a brown unitard) and strike your favorite Forrest poses. Take it to the next level and be Ana Forrest herself by adding a long black ponytail placed high on the top of your head.
Kathryn Budig
This is the costume for the yogi with no inhibitions (and a tight budget). Recreate Kathryn Budig’s famous ToeSox ads this Halloween, all you need is a pair of socks and a knack for doing yoga au naturale without exposing any of your private parts.
