Kristin McGee

It's very comfortable to hide behind work and continue doing what is familiar. I'm so used to my routine and I cram my schedule with clients, classes and other obligations. I think sometimes it's a way to keep myself from being with myself and becoming more intimate with myself. When I'm alone and I have some down time to go explore new things, I learn so much and I have fun.

The goal for me is to try and open up my schedule and myself to being with uncertainty and space. I want to encourage my students to step outside of their comfort zone and to also keep nurturing themselves and finding time to be alone and to be present with themselves so they can be that way with others.

I notice when I have more time to do the things I love (not that I don't love teaching and working) and find more balance so I can also take class, do my own practice, go to a museum, read a book, meditate, eat well, get a massage, be with my husband and friends and family, and to be with myself and take care of myself, I'm so much more loving and giving to others like my husband, family and students.

Kristin rocks! She is not only a great instructor for adults, but her Bendigirl yoga classes are so fun for tweens! She teaches Bendigirl here in NYC at a couple of gyms, has a Bendigirl DVD and has shared it at different events too. She is sweet with the girls and makes yoga really playful and fun!
