Yoga turns us on in a lot of ways—spiritually, energetically and mentally—and according to Amy Levine of Ignite Your Pleasure, yoga can also boost your sexual prowess. Amy, a New York City-based sex coach and certified sexuality educator, incorporates the basics of yoga into her sessions, inspiring her clients to become more confident both in and out of bed. Here, she shares some of her favorite ways to incorporate yoga into your sex life (with or without a partner) to feel more sexually empowered, connected and satisfied.
Try Amy Levine's easy yoga-inspired ways to improve your sex life:
Focus on your breath and leave your to-do list behind, get out of your head, and be present in the moment. It’s also something you can do alone or with a partner to shift from a hectic day, enabling you to truly enjoy the intimate experience.
Look into a mirror if you’re solo, or gaze into your partner’s eyes. This exercise has the power to connect you to the person across from you in a deep and meaningful way, and truly “see” whom your eyes behold—possibly, for the first time.
Ground yourself in your body by feeling each and every sensation. It will open your channels of energy, enabling you to embark on a journey of emotional and physical intimacy, union (to yourself or your partner) and sexual pleasure.
Do you believe there’s a connection between yoga and sexuality? If so, please fill out this short survey before Friday, October 5th and tell Amy what you think.
