Job Title

President

What's something about your job we might not know?

I read every email that comes into our customer service email address. I think it is important that I know what people are asking so we can provide better products and service. I think the most important part of my job is to listen – to our customers (studio owners, teachers, and students) and our employees and try to determine how to make the best…eco-friendly products and give back to earth with each product sold.

Briefly, can you tell us what a typical workday is like for you?

Like most people, my day starts and ends with reading emails. (Some of these may take my day in an entirely different direction than I had planned.) In the middle, I could be thinking about new colors, developing new products, working on new markets (Jade is now sold in over 40 countries around the world) or, one of my favorite things, creating new ads. In fact, I am incredibly excited about our next ad campaign.

What do you love about your job?

The best part of my job is easily when someone tells me how much they love their mat.

What's your #1 tip for someone who wants to take their passion for yoga off the mat and make it into a career?

I have always thought it is a very lucky person who finds the exact right career for themselves (I also say I am very lucky). If you can go to work every day with a  smile on your face, you are in the right place. If yoga makes you smile, you have to get your foot in the door. Sometimes this means volunteering, trading work for classes or part time work. Once you show your passion and commitment, you are more than halfway there.

Yoga experiences

I practice Ashtanga Yoga at least one day a week. Iam trying to do more but with a long work schedule I am a little stuck in the routine. I love the feeling I get after a Yoga practice, especially when I attain Savasana!
